Every year, International Women’s Day is an annual reminder that gender equality in the workplace is a living movement, driven by women and men who take action every day.

In 2026, Societe Generale reaffirms its determination to continue moving forward with conviction and high standards, and, above all, alongside those who embody this commitment every day.

Gender balance: A driver of innovation and performance

Women now occupy a pivotal position within the Group, including in managerial roles. This aligns with our clearly stated ambition of achieving 35% female representation in the Top 250 by the end of 2026.

Beyond this target, our commitment is reflected in the progress of individual career paths: women strengthening their leadership skills, managers supporting their development and teams working together. This is because a more gender-balanced company is a more creative and higher-performing organization, better equipped for the transformations ahead.

Supporting talent: Helping people to grow and encouraging and empowering them

The development programs deployed across the Group play a key role in helping each woman to better identify her strengths, overcome often invisible barriers and take on new responsibilities.

These programs offer far more than training; they create spaces for mutual support, inspiration, and knowledge sharing. These are powerful levers that shape individual career paths and strengthen our culture of inclusion in the long term.

The power of collective action: Moving forward together

Equality advances when everyone embraces the cause. Internal networks, including Employee Resource Groups*, take action every day to challenge norms, raise awareness and foster dialogue. They remind us that gender balance is not just “a women’s issue”, but a performance driver for everyone.

This commitment also extends beyond the company with initiatives involving our clients, dedicated events and discussion forums, and many other efforts that strengthen women’s expertise and financial decision making power.

Societe Generale is also driving progress within the broader banking, finance, and insurance sectors, notably through its involvement with Financi’Elles, France’s leading federation promoting gender balance in these fields. In the world of women’s sports, including rugby, the Group increases the visibility and recognition of women in all areas of society.

Giving a voice to those making a difference

From 8 March onwards, the Group will celebrate the women and men who help advance gender equality, whether they do so quietly or very visibly. Their stories will bring a human face to this collective commitment.

Because equality is not just a concept; it has a voice, a story and energy. It is lived, shared, and embodied.

Societe Generale’s ambition is clear: to create an environment in which everyone can realise their full potential, grow and flourish. Equality is not an unattainable goal; it is a movement that we bring to life every day.
