A long-standing partner of rugby for over 35 years, Societe Generale unveiled on November 8, ahead of the France vs. South Africa match, La Marseillaise performed in French Sign Language (LSF).

To enable all French people to fully experience and unite around La Marseillaise, Societe Generale is launching an inclusive and accessible version of the national anthem.

With the support of French Sign Language (LSF) experts from the IVT – International Visual Theatre association, players from the French rugby team learned to sign different passages of La Marseillaise. When combined, these segments compose the full anthem in signed version. This initiative allows fans to show their support for French team both vocally and through gestures during the 2025 Quilter Nations Series.

Expanded communication

This performance by the players was broadcast on the social media accounts of “Par Amour du Rugby” and “France Rugby”, as well as on the giant screens at the Stade de France during the national anthem at the three Quilter Nations Series 2025 matches:

  • France vs. South Africa, November 8 at Stade de France.
  • France vs. Fiji, November 15 at Stade Atlantique in Bordeaux.
  • France vs. Australia, November 22 at Stade de France.

The fans were able to collectively express their support for Les Bleus through their voices and gestures.
