Appointment of Sylvie Prea as Director of CSR for Societe Generale

Societe Generale announces the appointment of Sylvie Préa as Director of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for the Group as of 1 January 2017. She replaces Jean-Michel Mépuis who is retiring.

In her new position, Sylvie will become a member of the Group Management Committee. She retains her current role of Head of Human Resources for the Global Banking & Investor Solutions division until the end of 2016.

Sylvie’s mission will be to lead and develop the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme of Societe Generale group, which is one of the key dimensions of the Bank’s strategy to secure sustained growth. Her appointment to the Group Management Committee demonstrates the commitment to further strengthen and integrate CSR matters in the Group’s strategy. Aware of the environmental and social issues at stake, Societe Generale seeks to ensure the generation of a long-term positive impact for its various stakeholders. Environmental and social principles apply to all the Bank’s activities and are taken into account in the daily conduct of all its businesses.

The Bank has the ambition to be a prominent banking player for its CSR accomplishments and its steady progression is recognised in the annual study conducted by RobecoSAM: in 2016 Societe Generale is once again in the first quartile of the banking sector for its CSR achievements.
