French Retail Banking
The SG Network in France
The SG Network in France offers tailored solutions to meet the needs of nearly 9 million individual, professional, non-profit and corporate clients.
It runs some 1,400 bank branches, located predominantly in urban areas, and offers a comprehensive range of services such as savings, wealth management, corporate finance and means of payment solutions through an omnichannel set-up (internet, mobile device, phone). Since the merger between the Societe Generale network with the Credit du Nord group in January 2023, the Group has been following a strategy rooted in the regions, with increased responsiveness and a focus on the specific needs of each type of clients, notably through its heightened expertise in savings, insurance and financing.
BoursoBank Online Banking
BoursoBank, a fully owned subsidiary of Societe Generale, is a pioneer and leader in France in its three main businesses: online banking, online brokerage and online financial information (boursorama.com is ranked No. 1 for economic and financial news). Accessible to all, regardless of income levels and financial assets, BoursoBank’s purpose is to simplify banking, give its users purchasing power and enable them to manage their finances. BoursoBank had more than 7 million clients at the end of 2024.
SG Private Banking
Well-established in Europe, Societe Generale Private Banking offers global financial engineering and wealth management solutions, in addition to global expertise in structured products, hedge funds, mutual funds, private equity funds and real estate investment solutions. It also offers clients access to capital markets. Societe Generale Private Banking will also be able to rely on Societe Generale Investment Solutions (formerly Weath Investment Solutions) to position itself as a recognised architect of financial savings solutions and become a key market player. This true One-Stop Shop offering consolidates the management and structuring skills offered by Investment Management Services, the Market Solutions teams in charge of market solutions and the management entities (located in France and Luxembourg).
Societe Generale Assurances
The Societe Generale Assurances business is a lynchpin in the Societe Generale group’s development strategy, in synergy with its retail banking, private banking and financial services businesses. Societe Generale Assurances is also pursuing the expansion of its distribution model through the development of external partnerships.
Societe Generale Assurances offers a full range of products and services to meet the needs of Individual, Business and Corporate clients in life insurance savings, retirement savings, personal protection and non life insurance businesses.

Global Banking and Investor Solutions
The mission of Global Banking and Investor Solutions (GBIS) is to offer worldwide solutions in Global Markets, Global Banking & Advisory, Global Transaction Banking and Securities Services for corporate and financial institution clients. GBIS has almost 16,000 employees across 35 countries and has a commercial presence in about 50 countries, covering Western Europe and the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) regions, as well as the Americas and Asia-Pacific.
GBIS supports its clients over the long term by offering them a variety of services, including integrated and customised solutions tailored to their specific needs. GBIS’ experts provide their issuer clients (large corporates, financial institutions, sovereigns, public sector) with strategic advice on their development and access to capital markets for financing and risk management. They also offer services to investors who manage financial savings according to defined risk/return targets.
As a pioneer in sustainable finance and positive impact, the Group advises its clients and offers them concrete financing and investment solutions aimed at transitioning towards a more sustainable economy. Social and environmental responsibility is at the core of GBIS’ businesses.
Global Markets and Investor Services
The Global Markets and Investor Services division includes Global Markets Activities formed by the “Fixed Income and Currencies” and “Equities” divisions and the “Securities” businesses. Its teams of financial engineers, salespeople, traders and specialist advisors use SG Markets, a unique integrated digital platform, to offer customised solutions designed to address each client’s specific needs and risks in an increasingly interconnected financial environment. Furthermore, Societe Generale’s Cross Asset Research department provides an in-depth analysis of the impacts of major events on various asset classes.
In early 2024, the launch of Bernstein, a joint venture between Societe Generale and AllianceBernstein, led to the creation of a global leader in equity research and cash equities. Through this partnership, Bernstein’s clients have access to a global and comprehensive suite of top-tier cash equity and research services, on top of Societe Generale’s existing equity capital markets, equity derivatives and prime services activities.
Financing and Advisory
Financing and Advisory is responsible for managing and developing global relationships with the Bank’s strategic clients. The department covers:
- the Global Banking & Advisory (GLBA) platform that now combines, within a single business unit, the Coverage teams dedicated to Global Banking clients and the business teams: advice regarding mergers & acquisitions and other corporate finance operations, ESG, corporate banking and investment banking (capital raising – debt or equity, financial engineering and issuer hedging solutions). GLBA operates on a global scale with teams of experts based in France, in Western, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Americas and Asia-Pacific;
- the Global Transaction & Payment Services (GTPS) teams focus on major economic and financial players (domestic and international financial institutions, large and medium companies with an international activity, multinationals, etc.) requiring assistance with the management of their specialised short-term financing (banking, commercial, corporate) and/or payment flows.

- International Retail Banking activities spanning our banking networks in Europe, Africa and abroad;
- Mobility and Financial Services which houses the consumer finance, operational vehicle leasing and fleet management, and equipment and vendor finance activities.
International Retail Banking
Central and Eastern Europe
Founded in 1990 and a Societe Generale subsidiary since 2001, Czech bank Komerční banka (KB) provides universal banking services for individual and companies. KB is Czechia’s third-ranked bank with outstanding loans of 33.4 billion euros, 209 branches and 7,227 full-time staff at end-December 2023.
In Romania, BRD, a Societe Generale subsidiary since 1999, is the country’s no. 3 bank with market share of approximately 10% in terms of loans and 10.5% in terms of deposits at the end of November 2023. BRD is divided into 2 major business lines: Retail Banking (individual clients and SMEs) and Corporate and Investment Banking.
Africa, Mediterranean Basin and overseas
Societe Generale is a key player in these geographies. The Group is committed to supporting its individual and corporate clients, regardless of their size, by offering a range of solutions tailored to meet all their needs.
In the Mediterranean Basin, the Group has been present in Algeria (since 1999) and Tunisia (since 2002).
In Sub-Saharan Africa, the Group benefits from strong historical local positions, particularly in Côte d'Ivoire and Senegal (first in terms of loans and deposits), and in Cameroon (second in loans and deposits).
To support its clients, Societe Generale has deployed dedicated platforms for infrastructure financing on the African continent. Located in Algeria and Côte d'Ivoire, these platforms aim to leverage the Group's expertise in structured financing, closely aligned with clients and their projects.
Societe Generale also operates in financial markets through a multi-asset and multi-product framework based in Côte d'Ivoire and Cameroon, including management and brokerage companies, specialized subsidiaries in asset management for third parties, and a Trading Room located in Abidjan, which notably integrates foreign exchange activities in the UEMOA zone.
In the Overseas, the Group is established in La Réunion and Mayotte, as well as in French Polynesia and New Caledonia.
Mobility and Leasing Services
Global leader in operational vehicle leasing and a key player in sustainable mobility, Ayvens is a Societe Generale subsidiary with a presence in 43 countries, a combined fleet of some 3.4 million vehicles and 15,000 employees. The Group provides mobility solutions for businesses of all sizes and for individuals, both locally and globally. The offer includes a comprehensive range of services including maintenance, tyre management, fuel consumption monitoring, insurance and vehicle replacement.
A pioneer in the field of mobility solutions, Ayvens is constantly innovating in order to provide its clients, fleet managers and drivers with optimal support and deliver an offer tailored to their requirements.
Specialised Financing
Specialised consumer finance activities
Societe Generale has subsidiaries specialising in consumer finance services in Europe (CGI in France, BDK and Hanseatic Bank in Germany, ESSOX in Czechia and Fiditalia in Italy) and Africa.
These subsidiaries provide financing solutions (primarily loans granted for a specific purpose) via a BtoBtoC model, with a strategy focused primarily on vehicle financing. They enjoy leading positions in Western Europe, notably in vehicle financing.
