InnoLAB opens in Tunisia

Our Tunisian subsidiary UIB opened their own innovation lab, InnoLAB, on the 26 September, 2017. Seeking to stimulate, accelerate, explore and co-create, the InnoLab is designed to speed up innovation and open up the Tunisian digital ecosystem to the wider world. Partners, experts and startups will all be able to explore and develop solutions in artificial intelligence (AI), the internet of things (IOT), blockchain or virtual reality.

Lab Innovation in Senegal

Africa Innovation Lab in Dakar, Senegal, is designed to stimulate and speed up innovation in all Group subsidiaries in Sub-Saharian Africa. This action-focused "think tank" is an innovation incubator, especially for initiatives coming from Societe Generale's African subsidiaries.

Innovative projects

Bridge Africa 2017: Accelerating innovative projects

Initiated by Jokkolabs, with the support of Societe Generale and in partnership with GreenTec Capital Partners, the Bridge Africa programme has enabled startups in the fields of FinTech, AssurTech and Energy to extend their business to the coveted African market. 10 shortlisted solutions were pitched to a panel of experts with the two winning startups being hosted in The Dunes, Societe Generale's technology hub in the east of Paris, for two months, as well as benefiting from support by Jokkolabs and their partners.

"Tam-Tam", an African virtual hackathon

Seeking solutions for people with no or limited access to banking services, "Tam-Tam" was the second hackathon on the African continent. Officially launched the 16 April 2018, it is part of the continuity of the project initiated in December "L'Arbre à Palabres", during which 14 innovative startups from all over Africa worked together to design, prototype, and test unique solutions that meet the needs of informal actors, also invited.

Pan African Hackathon around the informal economy

In December in Abidjan, the Societe Generale's Innovation Lab in Africa launched its second hackathon. This time, the objective was to identify the needs of actors in the grey sector and to find customized and innovative solutions to their problems.
