Contactless payment by phone in Poland
Clients can now make contactless payments using their mobile phones as quickly and easily as with their bank cards, thanks to new Host Card Emulation-based technology.
To benefit from the new service, customers just need to install the bank's app on their phone equipped with Near Field Communication technology. The virtual bank card data is then stored in the app and kept up to date by internet connection.
Clients can then pay using any contactless payment terminal simply by bringing the unlocked mobile phone close to the terminal. For payments above PLN 50 (EUR 11.5), the pin code must also be entered into the terminal.

Eurobank, Societe Generale's subsidiary in Poland, currently offers this HCE-based service along with only four other banks in the Polish market.
An image of a card appears on the mobile’s screen during the transaction, so that the customer knows they are paying with their card in a new, more modern way.
