The main events marking a change in the Group's capital
As of Thursday February the 21st, Société Générale launched a EUR 5,5 billion capital increase with preferential subscription rights.
In October 2006, the Group carried out a EUR 2.4 billion capital increase with preferential subscription rights to enable it to finance ongoing acquisitions while maintaining profitable growth and strengthening its financial structure.
With a view to improving market liquidity and providing retail customers with better access to its shares, Société Générale carried out a stock split. On 11 May 2000, the nominal value of Société Générale shares was divided by four, from EUR 5 to EUR 1.25, and the number of shares multiplied by four in accordance with resolution number 16 of the AGM of 18 April. The Group's capital remained unchanged.
Current shareholders thus automatically received four shares at the new nominal value for one existing share.
