Les enfants en scène
Initiation et sensibilisation
APMSQ – children take the stage – the large children's choir of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines schools
Founded in 1991, APMSQ, the association for the promotion of music in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines works to promote classical music and for the development of a new public, particularly in the underprivileged communities in the agglomeration of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. Every year, it undertakes cultural and educational projects (operas, educational concerts, etc.) to raise awareness in schoolchildren – principally in primary and secondary schools – particularly from the less privileged neighbourhoods of the agglomeration.
Since 2003, six shows have been produced at the National Theatre venue of the Théâtre de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. In 2003, "Le clavier fantastique" by Graciane Finzi, in 2004, "Quand un enfant voyage" by Graciane Finzi, in 2005, "Noye's Fludde" by Benjamin Britten, in 2006 "The Little Sweep" by Benjamin Britten, in 2007 "Pinocchio" by Etienne Perruchon, in 2008 "Carmen, Traviata, Carmina Burana". In 2009, it was Mozart's "Magic Flute".
For the 2010 edition, APMSQ has chosen Etienne Peruchon's "Dogora", which is a suite for a children's choir, a mixed choir and a symphonic orchestra. 250 children from Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines schools (and half from underprivileged areas) have already started to learn their parts.
