1903 - The creation of the CASG
Created to offer employees a route to physical fitness and build team spirit within the bank, the Club Athlétique de la Société Générale (CASG) sets itself apart from other company staff associations by adopting an ethos focused on performance. The bank's senior executives have every intention of making sure that the new club rivals the best sports teams in France and the wider Europe.
The CASG soon establishes itself as one of the best clubs in the world, with its athletes winning several Olympic medals, football tournaments, rugby tournaments and cycling events.
Société Générale also plays an important role in developing sports infrastructures in France by financing many facilities, including the Jean Bouin stadium in Paris.
