Since its initial launch, over a thousand students have presented their projects. This year’s participants will have to be even more innovative! There is no question of repackaging ideas already presented to the jury, or initiatives that already in place within the Group. So how do you win the game? By being as practical as possible and by using and improving existing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) within Societe Generale’s various business lines, with the help of the www.citizenact.com and www.rse.socgen.com websites.

Is it just a game? We have always seen CITIZEN ACT as a lot more than that. Imagine how pleased we were when we discovered in July that it had been officially acknowledged as an online educative tool by the major independent body EFMD. Every student who takes part in CITIZEN ACT is thus considered to be a student who has spent a hundred hours working on the banking world’s CSR.

CITIZEN ACT is also about taking a project to a successful conclusion. For example, “Force”, which won the second edition of the game, has since been implemented by its team. It is a 10-day summer school for talented high-school children from poor backgrounds. This August, Force Summer School gave twenty teenagers the opportunity to develop their leadership qualities, to increase their confidence and to improve their practical knowledge.
