On 8 September 2009, the 1000th offsite Société Générale ATM was inaugurated in Guipavas in Brittany. These offsite ATMs, which are not part of a branch, offer a local service in popular locations.

They help promote the Group’s image and ensure our presence in sectors where we are sometimes not very present:

- supermarkets,

- main roads,

- shopping centres,

- stations,

- tourist sites

An active rollout policy means that around 100 offsite ATMS are installed every year, making Société Générale the N°2 French player in this field. The procedure behind the installation of these ATMS is sometimes long, with up to three years between the initial project and the installation of the ATM.

In 2008, 29.4 million withdrawals were made from offsite ATMs. Note that 73% of these withdrawals were made by prospective clients or foreign cardholders, which is exactly the opposite trend to withdrawals from ATMs in branches.
