On Saturday night, Les Bleus pulled off a real exploit by winning its first Grand Slam since 2004 with the final match of the 2010 Six Nations against an English XV that has all too often put an end to its dreams.

In the pouring rain the French players gave a hugely physical performance, cleverly converting their time in the opponent’s half into points through the boots of Morgan Parra and Francois Trinh-Duc. Above all, the French were patient and did not panic when the English fullback, Ben Foden, scored a try right at the start of the match. At the final whistle Les Bleus were ahead by just two points, 12 to 10, but the main thing was that they had won the Grand Slam!
This great performance could not have happened at a better time, with the World Cup, which takes place in New Zealand in September 2010, just one and a half years away. On the back of this victory, the selectors, led by Marc Lievremont, will be able to build a squad full of confidence for the upcoming competitions.
Societe Generale the faithful partner to Les Bleus since 1987, is proud of their famous victory. We congratulate them on behalf of our 157,000 employees worldwide!
