For his first visit to Moscow as Chairman and CEO, Frédéric Oudéa spent a lot of time meeting employees at our various entities. He met a broader circle of managers before attending presentations by the different entities.

Frédéric Oudéa took the opportunity to remind employees of the importance Société Générale places in the development of its businesses in Russia, despite the difficult economic conditions. He also highlighted the importance of developing synergies in the country, so as to optimise the expertise of the different entities.

The ties binding Société Générale and Russia go back a long way, and Frédéric Oudéa also talked about the future, as the our 30,000 employees in Russia, which make it the largest Group entity outside France, will have a decisive role in creating the Société Générale of tomorrow. He spoke of the three priorities that will enable us to become a responsible, committed and exemplary company:

- Client focus
- Operational efficiency
- The development of human capital

Frédéric Oudéa also used his time in Moscow to meet:

- our regulatory authority in the country (the Central Bank),
- the financial and economic authorities, starting with the Finance Ministry, and
- Vladimir Potanine, the Group’s partner in Rosbank.
