>> The French Networks welcome Société Marseillaise de Crédit
The acquisition of SMC means an additional 144 branches, 200,000 customers and 1,400 colleagues at Crédit du Nord, thereby reinforcing its existing set-up and, in particular, giving the Bank a strong regional brand in the South East of France. “This is the most significant purchase Crédit du Nord has ever made. It is fully in line with our regional banking strategy based on being close to our customers and ensuring their satisfaction, which are values we share with SMC,” said Vincent Taupin, CEO of Crédit du Nord.
>> The women’s tribune
The unfortunate realisation that women account for less than 10% of the membership of Boards of Directors in France prompted French financial newspaper La Tribune to contribute to the promotion of gender equality. It is therefore launching a project in favour of gender equality called the ‘‘La Tribune Women’s Awards’’. The aim of this project is to create and stimulate audacity amongst women by putting the spotlight on female bosses with exceptional careers. Because we are committed to diversity, of which gender equality is one facet, Societe Generale has decided to support the ‘‘La Tribune Women’s Awards’’.
